Passionate Instructional and Educational Leader I bring 17 years of diverse experience in various educational roles and settings. Beginning my journey as a school counselor, I provided crucial support and guidance, helping students navigate social and emotional learning. Transitioning to the role of an English Language Learner (ELL) teacher, I guided students through language barriers and cultural adjustments, while ensuring instruction from all teachers was tailored to meet student's individual needs. As an assistant principal, I played a pivotal role in uplifting teacher morale and driving student achievement. My journey reflects a commitment to transformative leadership, honed in both low-performing, urban, Title I schools, and a high-performing suburban school. My leadership style is best described as congenially authoritative, transformational, and servant-oriented. In previous roles, I prioritized transparency, honesty, and support, always with a genuine concern for both teachers and students. As an ELL teacher last year, this experience heightened my awareness of post-pandemic teacher and student needs, equipping me to be an even more empathetic and effective principal this year.
