About Twila Cain Pierce

With over 25 years of experience in the health care sector, I am a passionate and dedicated Interim Sr. Director for Medicaid and Charitable Programs at Kaiser Permanente, where I oversee the Medicaid and Charitable Care programs. My mission is to improve access, quality, and affordability of health care for underserved and vulnerable populations, and to advance health equity and social justice in our communities.I have a strong background in research, care management, as well as comprehensive knowledge of public health and health policy. I have successfully led and managed multiple projects and initiatives that have enhanced the delivery and outcomes of care for our members and patients and have fostered collaboration and partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Some of my achievements include launching the KP Cares pilot program, developing and implementing a strategic plan for Medicaid and Charitable Care, and creating a workforce development framework for care managers. I have also been recognized as a health equity champion and an advocate for social justice within and outside the organization.
