Twila Meyer is the CEO, Founder, and Lead Therapist at Meyer Counseling Center (MCC), where she leads a dedicated team of professionals helping individuals and families navigate complex mental health challenges. Specializing in children, teens, and parents, MCC offers personalized therapy for ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and behavioral struggles, transforming lives through compassionate, evidence-based care.Twila’s journey into therapy began in 2003 after a family member’s undiagnosed ADHD sparked her interest in how mental health issues impact daily life. Motivated to understand these challenges better, she transitioned careers, earned advanced degrees, and became a licensed therapist. With over 15 years of experience, her approach combines clinical expertise with a deep empathy for families facing tough circumstances.Under Twila’s leadership, MCC has grown from a small team to a well-established practice serving over individuals and families. Each year, the center supports more than 4,200 children, teens, and parents using therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Biofeedback, and Marriage & Family Therapy. Twila and her team design tailored treatment plans that promote healthier family dynamics, build self-esteem, and encourage long-term success.Beyond direct therapy, Twila mentors Associate Therapists in Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Marriage & Family Therapy, helping them navigate the licensure process and fostering their professional growth. All MCC therapists hold advanced degrees and remain current with ongoing education and licensure requirements.Twila is also an advocate for the mental health community. In 2019, she created and taught the course “Are You Ready for the Courtroom? Courtroom Basics for Mental Health Care Professionals,” an approved training offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for therapists. This course, focused on ethics and court protocol, was available both online and in-person.Outside of work, Twila enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, attending Ranger games, exploring the arts, riding her bike, and trying new things—like tap dancing! She believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which helps her stay connected and energized in her mission to help others thrive.
