About Twisha Ahuja

Sometimes, taking a break helps. Before I could think about what I wanted to do in life, I found myself in advertising. I was barely 20 when I was exposed to some of the finest creative geniuses at JWT. I was awestruck, and I knew I never wanted to leave. After eight years of struggling, hustling, late nights, and weekends at work, I decided to quit advertising altogether. The place where I had thrived and spent most of my time became the place I repelled. I experienced serious burnout, and I am the one to blame for it. I neither wanted to see new ads nor read about them as I had in the past. I disconnected and started a food blog and a small business. I travelled extensively and did things that made me happy. But the advertising bug inside me kept waiting for me to return. Eventually, I came back to the madness, eager to explore another side of myself. After taking a two-year break, I started small. I built homegrown brands and continued my food journey under Two Hangry Women. I took on projects with agencies and ex-colleagues who knew I was dependable. Now, I am back in this mad, mad world because I know we are inseparable. That break helped me rediscover my passion for advertising, writing, and imagining bizarre scenarios. I am grateful for that break. I still gripe about the workload, still loathe the odd hours, still find myself on a perpetual learning curve, and I am still making new friends along the way. But hey, now I'm the one with the gears, the break and of course, the steering wheel.
