About Ty Williams

I’m a graduate of Morehouse College with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. I’m a local resident of Southeast, Washington, DC and grew up in a military/government family. This played a role in fostering my passion for politics and the different fields within it. I’ve spent time in both public and private sectors working in public policy as well. My first introduction into the political field began with working with Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton. This role was an important learning experience, and encouraged me to seek to understand all the different aspects of public policy. Eventually I began working in the government affairs space with VW Group of America. Here I worked in the auto industry and trade policy assisting the office. As well as helping with Hill work. Then I began interning with National Journal which is a political media and research company. Here I worked in two teams the Vignette and PAC Vetting teams where I helped to launch two new products for NJ. I was granted the opportunity to intern with them for an entire year before starting my next internship with the FedEx government affairs team. I then worked as a Government Relations Manager for Monument Advocacy. In this role I managed several client portfolios. These clients included Netflix, Zillow, USOPC, and many more. I then began working as a Client Coordinator for MCMC LLC. In this role I work to settle healthcare disputes in the Federal CMS system. I check to make sure cases are prepped for review by our legal team, as well as for objections from either party. I currently work as the Advocacy and Policy Manager for NCNW. Where I help carry out the federal policy agenda for the organization. Outside of work, I’m an artist focusing specifically on photography, painting, and sketching. As well as trumpet, cymbals, and mellophone.
