About Tyan Thomas

I am a dedicated and passionate clinician and educator/education specialist who strives to help patients meet their health goals and students excel. I am a clinical pharmacy specialist with over 15 years of experience providing direct patient care and interprofessional care for patients on anticoagulation therapy for cardiovascular conditions and insulin therapy for diabetes management. This direct patient care experience has given me unique perspectives on contributors to health disparities in the US healthcare system. As a former full-time university educator for 17 years, I have deep and rich experience in classroom and clinical instruction, training, and trainee advising.My interests include addressing health disparities, working collaboratively with other health care practitioners to provide patient-centered medical care, and creating an inclusive, diverse health care environment where people of all backgrounds feel welcomed and can achieve their health care goals.
