About Tydesha Barley

Currently I am a school social worker at Deep Roots Charter School. In this role I have been tasked but also successful with many duties that are not your typical therapy/counseling sessions, managing behaviors and overall case management. Throughout my two years working for DRCS, right out of graduate school, I have learned so much about myself and have been able to strengthen my professional skills a great deal. A few task I have succeed with are as follows: providing student interns with a positive and flexible virtual internship by way of supervision, creating a career readiness curriculum, and occupying a second position as the behavioral health manager for DRCS while still being the school social worker. Through internships within the Philadelphia school district, Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN), and currently at DRCS I have learned software such as Google offices, Microsoft Office, DonorPerfect, Powerschool, Zoom, and Bulb (used to create virtual student profiles to collect artifacts learned in career readiness taught and implemented by myself). I am a hard-working, dedicated, outgoing, passionate, and caring individual. Although, I have been working primarily as a School Social Worker, in this capacity I have interfaced with individuals from multiple backgrounds and working towards a company’s mission. This has instilled multi-dimensional communication skills and an ability to recognize, act upon, and resolve conflicts. While also having the ability to create and foster inclusive spaces that encourage growth and a level of comfort. strong communication skills, eager to learn new things, and striving for continued excellence. You will find me to be well-spoken, energetic, confident, and personable, the type of person on whom your employees will rely.
