About Tye Pope

I am a founding partner and Director of Elemental Consulting Services, with over 18 years’ experience in environmental management and consulting within Australia and internationally. Specialising in marine science I have extensive experience providing advice to public and private sectors. I have been heavily involved in whole of project lifecycle elements across multiple projects from small-scale up to complex mega-projects. My experience includes- Impact assessment, permitting and implementation of a number of large projects regulated under State and Federal legislative frameworks - Creation and implementation of risk-based Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Environment Plans (EPs)- Oil spill preparedness, response and testing - Environmental compliance assurance - Dredge management plan development and implementation - Sediment, water, and biota monitoring studies in multiple locations along Australian and British Columbian coastlines - Site selection investigations for major plant and port developments - Ecological studies and surveys on cetaceans, turtle, invertebrate and benthic primary producer communities - Decommissioning plan creation and implementation My strengths include managing risk, providing expert advice, working with contractors, and managing teams that deliver outcomes. As an environmental specialist I bring sound business experience, good judgement and strong problem-solving skills along with an analytical mindset and a drive to improve systems and processes. I want to preserve the environment for future generations, and believe it is possible to strike a pragmatic balance between conservation and ecologically sustainable development.
