I am a recent graduate student and have earned my Master of Science in Health Care Administration degree at California State University, Long Beach with an emphasis on leadership/management. I have thirteen years of work experience in retail and customer service at Costco Wholesale. Also, I have over two years experience in the healthcare field as an intern under the Health Scholar Program at St. Mary Medical Center and at Kaiser Downey Medical Center as a member of the Transition Team, along with providing administrative support for the Summer Youth Employment Program. From my time at Costco Wholesale I have gained proper communication and organizational skills to provide excellent customer service and complete any task required of me. For my administrative experience in the healthcare field, from my time at St. Mary Medical Center, I have gained knowledge about healthcare policies and clinical operations for different departments as a Health Scholar and Department Coordinator for the Patient Experience Ambassador Program for the Medical-Surgical department. I was responsible for managing schedules, training, and being a resource for my team. From my time at Kaiser Downey Medical Center I was an intern as part of the Transition Team, along with providing administrative support for the Summer Youth Employment Program. From my recent experiences, I got experience being a part of major projects within a large organization and assist with ensuring that they operated smoothly and were successful overall. I am very passionate and eager to begin my career in the healthcare field. I have been described by my current employer, professors, and other leadership figures as detailed, conscientious, organized, devoted, meticulous, and responsible. I am looking to help an organization’s operations function appropriately and efficiently to help improve the delivery of health care services and the patient experience as well. I want patients to feel secure and know that they are a part of the health care team and this is what I will provide for an organization.
