About Tyler Blount

A wise man once said, “Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed. Everything else is public relations.” A multimedia journalist must possess extensive knowledge in the areas of telling a story through many forms of media. With my recent degree, a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism, I am proficient in the areas of videography, video editing, writing for print and broadcast and the use of news related computer software. I have extensive video editing and sports writing skills through student media work at Florida A&M University and freelance work on websites. I have more than two years of experience in online sports writing, two years of experience in sports videography and photography and experience on-camera during live newscasts for FAMU TV-20. I also have the ability to use computer software efficiently and in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Programs such as: Final Cut Pro, ENPS, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other platforms needed to provide graphics for added content are some of the programs I use to meet said journalistic obligations. My work and experience in videography, editing and cross platform journalism have tailored my eye for timeliness, punctuality and consistency.
