Background
About Tyler Borda
I am a Powerplant Engineer at United Airlines Technical Operations in San Francisco, CA. I have obtained Master's degree in aerospace engineering from San Jose State University in 2020. Ever since I was a child I have designed and built things whenever I could. Over the years, I have built multiple cars and trucks from the ground up that I am proud to call mine. For school projects I always thought outside of the box and built something unique, original, and different. I fell in love with aircraft when I was 12 years old. There was a special event on Father’s Day at a local airport in my hometown of Redding, CA. I really wanted to attend so my grandfather took me. We arrived early and found out that they were offering helicopter rides to the first 10 people to get children interested in flying. I will always remember that helicopter ride; the feeling of lifting vertically off the ground amazed me and it was enough to inspire me to pursue a degree that had something to do with aircraft. Because I had fallen in love with aircraft and I always had a natural aptitude for building things; this made Aerospace Engineering an obvious choice so that I could apply my skills to something I would want to do.I spent most of my life working on vehicles with my father. Even with all of the projects, school was a main priority of mine. I studied hard and was able to start college at a younger age completing 3 AA degrees in Engineering, Math and Quantitative Reasoning at the age of 18. I transferred to San Jose State University in the Fall of 2015 to start the degree of my dreams. San Jose State has taught me, how to think, interact, and work in a team to effectively communicate ideas. I plan to continue furthering my knowledge in the concepts of designing and building aircraft. I am constantly seeking meaningful work and experience. For any job in the future, I am open to new opportunities and am willing to learn new things.
