About Tyler Cabatic

Tyler Cabatic is a school counselor for multilingual learners at Westfield High School in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Before joining FCPS, he served as the founding school counselor at William O. Robey High School in Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS). Robey is a nontraditional high school that supports students who are working, parenting, multilingual learners or need to earn credits more quickly than their traditional LCPS high school allows. As of July 1, 2025, Tyler is the Secretary of the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA) and the Past President of the Virginia Alliance for School Counseling (VASC). VCA is the state branch of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and a member of the ACA Southern Region. In 2023, VASC was honored as the VCA Division of the Year. Additionally, in recognition of his leadership, Tyler was named VASC Division Member of the Year at the 2024 VCA Convention. Tyler holds a master’s degree in Counseling and Development with a concentration in School Counseling from George Mason University, where he was named the 2021 Outstanding Student in Counseling and Development - School Counseling Program. He was also recognized as a VCA Michele Dowdy Emerging Leader in 2020. Tyler is currently pursuing a post-master’s certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mason.
