About Tyler Caffery

My passion is music. I have written, produced, and mixed several projects, including an album set to release soon. Creating music is the perfect marriage of my technical prowess and creativity, and has granted me the experience and confidence to make hundreds of small decisions writing, performing, and mixing, culminating in intentionally executed visions. This is the mindset I bring as a Product Manager. The role of product manager is ambiguous, with the need to have confidence in your personal systems and executions, while finding creative solutions to dynamic problems. I have successfully navigated this role at American Express with effective management through Agile methodologies to create a roadmap, features, and user stories that provide business value, while enhancing the technical platform. I managed the launch of 5 Pay with Points product integrations, worked closely with partner tech teams and internal stakeholders, and through effective communication, maintained alignment on several parallel initiatives. As an engineer at Hypergiant, I was able to have fun with engineering, and start seeing the world in a more malleable way. In RnD, our creations were meant to be interesting and innovative, while telling a well crafted story. The algae photobioreactor tells a story of a future where every person can have a powerful impact on the health of Earth's environment in a simple automated fashion. As someone who has a passion for sustainable practice and reversing climate change, I want to be a part of more endeavors like this from the product mindset. My engineering experience allows me to properly empathize with those on my team, understand the execution, and set reasonable expectations with stakeholders.
