Background
About Tyler D.
I’m the type of person who can harness a strong foundation in logical and rational thinking in order to rapidly synthesize incoming information and make informed decisions. I am not afraid to pursue success, even if it might mean taking risks or considering unpopular opinions. I am well aware of my strengths and weaknesses, and by opening up about them to others, I am able to form strong relationships that foster multidisciplinary collaboration and promote highly competent teaming. I have significant robotics experience, having completed numerous projects involving the construction and coding of autonomous systems; through these, I have worked with numerous types of digital and analog sensors on the Raspberry Pi platform as well as corresponding python implementations. I also have wet lab experience, with familiarity in procedures such as plasmid isolation/modification, bacterial transformation, cell culture, protein isolation/purification, and assays. Additionally, I have experience working with electronics, including breadboarding with discrete components, soldering, DMM/oscilloscope use, LTSpice schematics, and circuit design. Alongside my engineering coursework, I am pursuing a certificate in entrepreneurship as well as a minor in computer science. Using my multidisciplinary skills, I have the ability to quickly comprehend and solve multifaceted problems as well as take unconventional approaches, such creating a computational model in order to solve a thermodynamics problem. Outside the classroom or lab, I enjoy playing video games with my friends or doing research on some of my various hobbies such as building PCs, audio equipment, RC vehicles, and cars. I also love to travel, especially for the purposes of visiting national parks and eating great food. Outside, I enjoy hiking, skiing, sailing, tennis, and cycling. I am currently searching for an internship opportunity for the Summer of 2024. Please feel free to connect with me, reach out with questions, or request a resume; I can be contacted at tdierckman.linkedin@gmail.com.
