Background

About Tyler Delong

My communication experience includes scripted and non-scripted television, independent films, and nonprofit organizations. My expertise fosters quick, seamless communication, paired with multi-media content creation to facilitate smooth transitions to production, with the press, and to the public. I moved to Southern California to pursue a career in multi-level communication and content creation. Since, I’ve worked with a variety of organizations, including scripted and non-scripted television, independent films, and nonprofit start-ups to foster quick, seamless communication in production, with the press, and to the public. The fast-paced environment of entertainment taught me not only the importance of streamlining multiple-department communications, but also the need to learn quickly, act fast, and perform at a consistently high level. The nonprofit/start-up worlds taught me the necessity of varied communication techniques depending on community, target audience, and the intended action of a message. Additionally, I learned through the nonprofit world the importance of event planning, time management, and agenda scheduling. Throughout my career, I’ve made positive waves for underrepresented individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community and encouraged growth for minority representation and accessibility. At university, I wrote, produced, and edited a PBS documentary about mental health in the collegiate community; an LGBTQIA+ inclusion pamphlet with Queer representation resources for campus; and multiple editorials in our collegiate newspaper on the struggles for queer representation in rural Washington State. As Communications Manager at Young Entertainment Activists, I hosted an eight-person panel featuring queer & trans actors and entertainment professionals to an audience of more than 500.
