About Tyler Fields

Throughout my life, I have always loved working with people. Helping, teaching, and collaborating with friends and colleagues are what bring me joy. Combining this with my logically thinking brain, I decided to major in Mathematics with a concentration in education and became a High School Math Teacher after graduating from CSU. In 2020, after five years of teaching, I made the difficult decision to change careers in search of something new. Although I still love education and working with great people, I looked for something that was challenging and gave me the opportunity to grow. That's when I discovered The Turing School of Software and Design. While at Turing, I was able to use my logic skills, my love for computers and problem solving, and my passion to work with others to start my new career: Software Engineering. I've now been a Ruby on Rails developer for over three years, specializing in back-end development while dabbling with front-end as well. My languages and skills include Ruby on Rails, SQL, PostgresQL, Docker, Javascript, and Tailwind UI. I'm familiar MacOS and Linux operating systems.
