Background

About Tyler Gerome

My name is Tyler Gerome. I graduated from California State University, Monterey Bay in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science. I pursued a career as an Aquarist, working at multiple aquariums, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Seaworld San Diego, and the Sealife Aquarium in Carlsbad. My passion was sharing my love for the ocean and its inhabitants with guests and attempting to instill in them a desire to protect the ocean and the environment. I made the difficult decision that I would like to seek more stable and supportive career elsewhere. I had heard of data analytics from a close friend and, upon further research, felt that this would be a career I would enjoy and, with my previous data collection and analysis experience, be successful with. I enrolled in the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate course in September of 2022 and completed it in September of 2022. With my newly acquired hands on experience with the tools Spreadsheets, SQL, Tableau, R Studios, and my experience with database queries, data visualization, dashboards, and reports, I am now actively seeking a new career as a Data Analyst.
