About Tyler Holmes

When I was 12 years old I started working for my neighbor who had a small, family owned landscape/hardscape business. Initially he gave me small jobs, age appropriate, like sweeping out the workshop, washing the truck and riding lawn mower, cutting grass, raking leaves, grunt labor. Over the years he mentored me, teaching me business practices, finance, how to use tools and build, how to treat customers, bid jobs, how to solve problems, critically think, on and on. After a few years he left me alone on jobs to see if I would actually work independently, apply building techniques and not slack off. He sat back and watched or would leave for short periods of time. He eventually put me in charge of the jobs and laborers. He never stopped teaching me, pointing out my mistakes, making me correct them, helping me the best person and transman I could be. Today, as I'm building my business, I try to treat and teach my employees that same way. Teach, train, be patient, be honest, treat them with respect. Give my customers my best. He was my best man when I married and continues to be my dearest friend.
