About Tyler Hurst

My name is Tyler Hurst and I am a graduate of the Recording Industry program at Middle Tennessee State University. I graduated with an emphasis in music business and minored in journalism. During my time in school, I spent time as a tour guide and freshman orientation leader, and I feel very comfortable working with large groups because of it. I also wrote for two of our student newspapers and consider writing my strongest skill. Professionally, I spent a semester interning for Riverhouse Artists, a 360 music industry company based in Nashville. I primarily worked in the music publishing and A&R department but spent time in other parts of the company. I have also spent time as a Promotions Assistant for the Cumulus media radio stations. I managed all of the social media accounts and curated much of the content creation. I was also in charge of data entry to the website and updated the promotional c. Most recently, I spent nine months as a Global Data Services Associate at Universal Music Publishing Group. I was on the frontlines of royalty distribution for songwriters. Using Excel, I assisted in "work creation" which involved transcribing data from spreadsheets into our designated database making sure all data was distributed correctly. I would prefer to stay in the music industry (preferably in publishing), but am open to any position that would suit my skill set.
