About Tyler Murphy

I am a senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville working toward a business degree in Finance with a collateral in Information Technology Management. I have always been a person who works towards cohesion and harmony, so relationship building is one of my strengths. In my first job as a team member at Menchies, I utilized my skills to be able to bring together a team that was very diverse and from different high schools. I continue to build relationships as a member of my fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho. Responsibility is another skill of mine that I use in my personal work and at my job. I was often turned to when something of importance and of timely manner needed to get done. The main aspects of business that interest me are the freedom and potential for you to start your own business and make the customer-based decisions that are key to rising to success. My experience with relationship building and customer satisfaction have helped me be ready to start a career where I can utilize interpersonal and analytical skills to make the best-informed decision about my customer’s needs. When volunteering at the hospital, I was not only working with a team of healthcare workers but also with a group of patients that all needed me to communicate clearly through various forms such as emails, phone calls, and face-to-face.
