As an Quality Inspector, I get the opportunity to apply my engineering skills from my recent Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree on a daily basis to improve our operations, solve common problems, and maintain the highest level of quality for my customers. The key to my success is being able to quickly adapt to changing situations and learn on my feet. In this rapid, hands-on environment, it’s amazing to see how much my degree has applied. I’ve been recognized for my fast learning and efficient methods. I have worked on many successful projects by leveraging my strong research abilities and my mastery of key engineering concepts. In addition to my work experience, I was involved with key projects at CSU: Baja SAE Off-road Vehicle (2017 – 2018) – Developed, modeled, prototyped, and installed a pressurized fluid power source as part of a team tasked with building an off-road vehicle. – Learned how to effectively and efficiently collaborate with a 14-person project team, as well as overcome communication issues. Automatic Plant Watering Device (2017) – Partnered with fellow mechanical engineering students to build an automatic plant watering device that combined electrical and mechanical engineering. – Planned the entire design process from concept to final product testing. – As primary device programmer, utilized Arduino controller to develop/implement program, poll sensors, and create a user interface. – Resultant device accurately sensed moisture content and adequately watered plants.
