My name is Tyler D. Roy and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 20+ years of experience working with a multitude of populations. It is my belief that all individuals- no matter how troubling their circumstances and situations, have the inherent potential for healing and growth and the capacity to enjoy a more fulfilling life. While I do not minimize the effects of trauma or victimization (physical, sexual, or emotional ) on one’s mental well-being, I strongly believe that with effective counseling, individuals can be empowered to become more resilient, and ultimately transition from “victim” to SURVIVOR! Whether you are grappling with self- esteem issues, unfulfilling/troubled personal relationships, or residual effects from past traumas, your healing begins with YOU. As a seasoned Clinician, I recognize the importance and therapeutic value of providing a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential environment where unconditional regard and sound clinical practice are cornerstone. I employ a very client-centered, strength based approach with all clients. An approved provider for the IL SOMB (Sex Offender Management Board), Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist (CSOTS), and a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), I specialize in Mood Disorders, Adolescent Behavioral Issues, Grief/ Loss issues, Attachment/Abandonment issues, Relational Problems, Women’s Issues, Post- Trauma and Sexual Abuse issues. I am currently an in-network provider for several major health insurance carriers- including United Behavioral Healthcare, BCBS-IL, Aetna, Healthlink, United Healthcare, GHP, ValueOptions, Cigna,MHNet, and Humana and offer a very reasonable sliding scale fee for those who do not have or elect not to utilize their health insurance.
