My love of the Japanese language brought me to Japan and I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with some truly remarkable people throughout my career here. I am a fish in water with source code and system configurations but above all I am relentlessly people-oriented. Almost all great products are built by teams, and I firmly believe that encouraging and unlocking the potential of the people making up those teams is the single critical success factor for any organization. Personal projects: In 2016-2017, as a personal (non-work related) project, I independently developed a web application that aggregates and ranks rental real estate listings in Tokyo by their price-to-value ratio. Listing value was calculated as the sum of the normalized values of floor area, age of building, walking distance to train station etc weighted by user preferences. I did not commercialize it and it is no longer online but I privately retain the source code for it and can share more details upon inquiry. It was a Linux, Apache, MySQL, Python (Django) stack hosted on AWS.
