About Tyler Staley

I'm a graduate from Grand Valley State University. Formerly a film and video major, I switched to an art major with an emphasis in Graphic Design. I have earned a minor in Chinese language, and have eight years of total language education experience and can speak, write, and read at an intermediate level. I have also achieved a minor in Photography. I am punctual to the best of my ability, I work well on my own and with a team, and I put a lot of effort into getting a job or task done right. I am usually meticulous about work and tend to take my time with a job or task until I think it is satisfactory. This usually means I work a bit slower than most, but I prefer quality of work over speedy production. However, I can also work well in a fast-paced environment, so long as the proper training is given beforehand. Once I have a process memorized, I can complete the task effectively and efficiently. I am very calm and collected, and very rarely do my emotions interfere with my work. I am more laid back, but again, I work hard when I need to. I tend to work well under pressure of a deadline, although a weakness of mine is procrastination, but only in the case where a large amount of time is given to complete a task, as in weeks or months. Some hobbies of mine include writing, drawing, stargazing, and coin collecting. I love stories, especially ones that are well presented and in-depth. I draw a lot of my inspiration in terms of story from things like comics, anime and manga, movies, and, of course, my own life. Family and friends are very important to me, and they will always come first. I hope to find a job that will allow me to balance my work and personal life reasonably, as well as improve my art and design skills along with my Chinese language skills.
