About Tyler Stofer

I have been an employee with the New York City Department of Correction since 2016, where I started as a summer intern. I found that I enjoyed the fast-paced environment of investigations, and quickly grew invested in the work. Since then I have not left! I was offered a part-time position in 2017 and I have steadily taken on more and more responsibility. Since 2017 I have been promoted to Investigator, and most recently I have been promoted to supervising investigator. My responsibilities currently include supervising a team of investigators, ensuring they have the guidance they may need and that they are able to meet deadlines. Multiple times a week I am assigned to filtering incoming tasks and delegating any emergent tasks amongst available staff. This job requires me to be extremely organized and calm under pressure. In addition, it demands my interpersonal skills be up to par. I am excited to pursue a career in Criminal Justice and looking forward to achieving my Masters degree.
