About Tyler Wildes

Physician in anatomic and clinical pathology (AP/CP) residency at Duke University Hospital. I have a background in cancer immunotherapy research, including multiple projects investigating the efficacy of cellular immunotherapies in treating brain tumors. Through my residency training, I am developing proficiency in surgical pathology, hematopathology, cytopathology, neuropathology, dermatopathology, molecular pathology, autopsy pathology, and transfusion medicine. I am developing skills in evaluating tissue morphology, immunohistochemical (IHC) stains, fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH), protein electrophoresis, peripheral blood smears, transfusion reactions, and flow cytometric immunophenotyping, as well as performing and evaluating intraoperative frozen sections, autopsies and rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of cytologic samples. Through my research training, I developed biomedical research skills including flow cytometry, molecular biology, cell culture, grant writing, manuscript writing, journal peer reviewing, giving poster and platform presentations, performing preclinical animal experiments, and serving as co-principal investigator of a small clinical trial. After training I plan to practice general pathology in a community setting.
