Background

About Tyrone Kirwan

I’m an NPD Technologist with a background in nutritional science and growing expertise in food manufacturing, product development, and technical systems. At Glenhaven Foods, I work cross-functionally across NPD, Specifications, QA, and Product Improvement — managing documentation, coordinating trials, supporting system implementation, and driving early-stage process improvements. My foundation in nutrition and food science (PgDip Nutritional Science – UCC; BSc Nutrition & Exercise Science – SETU) complements my hands-on experience in food formulation, compliance, and factory-led innovation. I’ve worked with systems such as Recipe Professor and Redzone, and collaborated closely with departments to align technical documentation and deliver product launches from concept to shelf. Currently preparing to begin training to further develop my skills in process efficiency and structured project work. In addition to my technical role, I have experience as a working with elite GAA and collegiate athletes — an area I remain passionate about and may return to in a part-time or advisory capacity in the future. Always interested in connecting with like-minded professionals across the food, nutrition, and performance sectors to share ideas, collaborate, or learn from others in the industry.
