Imagine having a thoroughly enjoyable career which satisfies you intellectually, creatively and at the same time keeps throwing curve balls every now and then to make you a resilient, empathetic and passionate leader who believes in empowering and building high performance teams which go on to achieve milestones which haven't been attempted before. The roller coaster ride started from my early career in the US with FedEx where I single-handedly created competitive intelligence models on DHL to estimate their US domestic business size. My models ended up being a critical input to defining operational tactics for FedEx to gain market share upon DHL's exit. Upon my return to India, HSBC gave me the unique opportunity to establish a brand new Center of Excellence for Procurement Analytics. It was akin to birthing a startup and navigating the steep growth requirements by transforming a nimble team of 3 to a sizable CoE with 25 members within 2 years, all within the structure, process and regulatory strictures imposed by a banking giant such as HSBC. I followed it up with orchestrating the highly challenging and successful digital transformation journey of the Sales Analytics practice at Philips. By partnering with IT we modernized our technology stack to leverage the cloud computing platform of Microsoft Azure Data Lake and introduce the AI tool of Salesforce Einstein. This digital transformation journey enabled the execution of data science projects at scale such as account level Customer Segmentation deployed across 31 countries, identifying €1B worth of cross-sell & up-sell opportunities with €286M worth of realized order intake and counting. Generating on-demand real time KPIs by leveraging Azure data lake to calculate 100+ Customer KPIs and.empowering end users across geography and functional domains to leverage customer metrics.With this rich experience of working in US and India, leading cross-cultural teams (India and Europe) and having exposure across numerous industries (healthcare, banking, IT, logistics), I am now devoting my time towards consulting upcoming and established startups in their data science practice as I search for the next big opportunity to make a difference in the world of data.
