About Ulrike Teichmann

I am a qualified European Patent Attorney since 2006 with a scientific background in biochemistry (education at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen and at the TU München). During my academic education I had the opportunity to gain overseas experience for 3.5 years at the NIH in Bethesda, US. After finishing my academic education, I worked in various Biotech companies (post doctoral work as well as intellectual property law) before joining Boehringer Ingelheim. In the years 2002 until 2005 I held various positions in intellectual property departments, first at Micromet AG, Munich and later on at MediGene AG, Martinsried/ Munich. Upon joining the patent department at Boehringer Ingelheim in 2005, I first held a position as Patent Counsel in the group of Patents Biotechnology/Animal Health at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH & CO KG, in Biberach an der Riß, where I was responsible for parts of the patent portfolio of the Biopharmaceuticals custom manufacturing business and some therapeutic antibodies (NBEs). In 2012 I joined the Global Department Patents Animal Health at Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica GmbH, where I was initially responsible for the European team as Head of Patents Animal Health Europe. Since March 2022, I have the global responsibility for patent matters in the filed of Antiparasitics & Therapeutic NCEs (new chemical entities) within Boehringer Ingelheim's animal health business unit.
