Background
About Umair Jaffar
With over 20 years of experience in the arts, culture, and heritage sector, I am a passionate advocate and promoter of diverse and inclusive cultural expressions. As the CEO of Small World Music, I lead a dynamic and innovative organization that presents, produces, and supports culturally diverse music in Toronto and beyond. My core competencies include artistic programming, cultural and heritage preservation, arts management and administration, community engagement, social entrepreneurship, and strategy. I hold an MSc in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Oxford and an MBA from the University of Adelaide, where I also obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt in business process improvement. I leverage my academic and professional background to create impactful and sustainable programs and partnerships that advance the artistic and social mission of Small World Music.
