About Umar Abdulmalik

Umar is an Administrative/ HR Executive in a health insurance subsidiary of an Oil & Gas corporation. He is a diligent problem solver and result-driven individual with exceptional leadership qualities. Some of his achievements are; leading a team in ensuring a seamless ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 14001:2015 (IMS) which earned him several recommendations from the Top Management and a staff with the "Highest Net Premium Income” business award. Umar also has over 7 years of social entrepreneurship experience under his belt due to his passion and deep commitment towards improving the state of the nation, through providing education and development opportunities for orphans, widows, people with disabilities, and youths from underserved communities. His focus includes improving education outcomes and human capital development policies, promoting reform-based leadership and eliminating socio-economic inequalities to achieve sustainable growth thereby eliminating poverty, which is actively aimed towards the achievement of some of the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN. This is being achieved from several collaborations with both public and private sectors and non governmental institutions by scaling the aforementioned programs. Umar is an active and reliable team player as he has served as the Curator of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community (Abuja Hub) where he was part of the Climate reality project, and also supervised the Youth and Security Summit which was centered around building trust for an improved security response in Nigeria. He is also a project Director of KIT Academy, a project geared towards skills enhancement through youth- driven projects and programs. The spirit of volunteering and giving back is part of Umar’s DNA which led to him establishing the Angels of Hope Foundation in 2016 and working with over volunteers to provide support to over individuals ranging across disabled persons to women and children. He made a great impact during the pandemic as he led his team in building the very first e-clinic in Kano state which made consultations easier. On days where Umar is not being a business professional or a social entrepreneur, he spends his time creating abstract? art pieces, exploring art galleries or traveling.
