About Umar Rehman

While studying Astrophysics at University, I was exposed to Python for data management and simulations. While my career took me down a different path away from Physics, my passion for coding did not leave and I continued to explore this in my own time. Currently I am working with RiverSafe as a junior DevSecOps engineer where I utilise technologies such as Docker, Azure, AWS, and more! Wether on client work or internal, my experience and knowledge grows exponentially with each passing day, from developing efficient and secure programs, to working with cloud services to ensure smooth deliveries in a CI/CD environment. In recent years I have been working as a Teaching Assistant for SEN students, and this has challenged me to work on building strong communication skills, effective time management strategies and a problem solving mindset. Having recently completed the Generation pre-apprenticeship Software Engineering boot camp I have now found myself working within a professional working environment as a DevOps engineer at a specialist consultancy company. As a fast learner with a key eye for detail, and an adaptable approach to working in high pressure environments, I look forward to being able to further develop my skill set.
