About Umberto G. Zingales

Secretary general of the Italian Constitutional Court. Graduated in law (110/110 cum laude) at "La Sapienza" University of Rome, he has a PhD in Civil Law and a Master's Degree in Administrative Law and Administrative Sciences. He was a lawyer at the Rome Bar, a qualified professor of legal and economic disciplines in upper secondary schools and an Official of the Bank of Italy. Counsellor at the Italian Constitutional Court since 2008, in 2016 he was appointed Head of the Protocol Office, in which he was especially involved in International Relations. From 2016 to 2021 he was Deputy Secretary General of the Italian Constitutional Court. Liaison Officer of the Italian Constitutional Court with the Venice Commission from 2018 to 2021. In November, 2021, he was appointed as Secretary General. He held seminar activities on Constitutional Justice at "La Sapienza" University of Rome. He is co-author of three editions of a book on the Code of the Administrative Process (Ipsoa, 2010, 2012, 2013), and author of essays, articles, news and reviews especially in public law and administrative law, published on paper and online magazines.
