About Umberto Murray

I am a New Zealander with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree major in Mechatronics with experience in the paper industry. As an operation’s manager of a Mexican paper Mill, which lasted over six years, I gained experience whilst supervising two paper machines where I enjoyed training union workers in a high pressure environment. I was successful in reducing safety hazards as well as reducing the carbon foot print through a number of projects such as supervising the installation of a new steam boiler changing the combustion fuel from heavy oil to natural gas in three phases and changing production ph level from an acid to alkaline based method. Not only did I manage to reduce these elements of the business but I also increased production on one machine of up to 40% supervising the upgrade of a suction press roll and changing the fabric styles on both machines to increase retention. Now in the USA, I worked as a Field Service Engineer for an automated bag fill and seal machine manufacturer where I was able to give service to over 25 US customers. As the first employee in the American branch I was able to grow the business and ensure it was successful though technical support, service and sales. In my current company I havre grown from production engineer to operations manager at a candle manufacturer. With the company growth during the pandemic I was able to install and new production line which lead to bring all manufacturing to the USA and as a result increased sales due to the improvement of product quality and service. I love working with industrial machines and always looking how to improve the process and/or product with new methodologies and technologies working driven on results with a passion for success
