Umer Anwer is working at Siemens Middle East Limited as the Management Consultant reporting directly to the Lead Country UAE Management. In this function he advises management on the long term strategic topics and initiatives. With “Contribution to Society” forming the basis of his passion to work for Siemens, he has recently taken over the additional responsibilities of being the Program Lead for COP28 representing Siemens and strategizing sustainable contributions of Siemens towards UAE’s “Net Zero Target”. His responsibilities include to showcase key Siemens Solutions and Tools contributing towards Carbon Reduction and Enhancing and Developing Partnerships with Stakeholders having similar Sustainability objectives.In addition to this he is also looking after Mergers and Acquisition projects for the Middle East Region working directly in coordination with HQ M&A team. Umer Anwer served as the Chief Financial Officer of Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering Co. Ltd, Stock Listed Company, from December 2015 to November 2022, completing 7 years in this role. He had assumed this role after completing almost 6 years (2009 - 2015) as Head of Risk and Internal Control (RIC) Siemens LLC, Dubai with the responsibility of Middle East Hub. He started his professional career with Siemens in UAE in 2007 as Manager Internal Audit and has, since then, fulfilled various leadership roles within Siemens.Umer Anwer is a qualified Public Finance Accountant and commenced his career with KPMG in Pakistan before moving to Ernst and Young in the UK.Umer is equipped with broad business and leadership experience and skilled in optimizing business processes and financial performance. He also possesses tremendous relationship building skills, both with external customers and internal cross functional teams, contributing significantly to the Business Development of the organization. He has worked in reorganization projects with comprehensive experience in managing organizational change.With over 20 years of experience in Finance, Umer has extensive experience in in financial modelling and financial and operational excellence.
