About Ummul Khaira

As a postdoctoral research associate in the Eversource Energy Center at the University of Connecticut, I am working on research that aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of weather forecasting and analysis. I use numerical weather prediction modeling, observed data, and machine learning techniques to create and test innovative solutions for atmospheric science applications. I received my Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Connecticut focusing on the same field. I have a bachelor's degree in water resources engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where I also worked as a research assistant for eight months. Before joining UConn, I was a lecturer at the Military Institute of Science and Technology for two and a half years, teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in civil engineering. I have multiple publications and presentations in the field of environmental engineering and atmospheric science. I am exploring opportunities for the next phase, where I can apply my skills and learn new things simultaneously while contributing to the advancement of environmental engineering and science.
