About Unnathi Shetty

My Bachelor's degree was focussed on Architecture which I completed from the Faculty of Architecture, Manipal University, Manipal. My work as a Junior Architect helped me gain a deep understanding of the demands of a deeply client-facing role. In addition to introducing me to working across a wide variety of teams, this experience also enabled me to inculcate an approach centred around users while balancing overall business objectives. Over time, however, I felt that designing in brick and mortar did not allow for the experimentation and speed of iterations that I wished to achieve. As a result, I started to experiment with UI Designs. Initially I taught myself Illustrator, Photoshop and operating with other creative suites. To gain a more formal understanding of the field, I completed a professional course in UI/UX at Design Boat School, Bangalore. The course allowed me to hone my skills as a designer by emphasising the importance of users in design, understanding design guidelines and learning design tools.
