About Upendra Shahi

I was born and raised in Bajura, Nepal, where limited infrastructure and frequent natural disasters made daily life unpredictable. Growing up in this environment taught me to value resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of systems that truly serve people. These experiences sparked my interest in problem-solving and set me on a path to pursue engineering as a way to create practical and meaningful change. At the University of North Texas, I’ve built a strong foundation in mechanical engineering through both academic study and hands-on research. From working with advanced materials to using tools like SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Python for modeling and analysis, I’ve developed both technical skills and a mindset focused on efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement. My academic projects often emphasize real-world application—whether it’s improving structural systems or exploring data-driven approaches to design. Above all, I’m motivated by the desire to contribute to work that has lasting impact—whether in technology, infrastructure, product development, or operations. I enjoy working on teams that bring together diverse perspectives and strive to deliver practical, thoughtful solutions. I believe that with the right tools and a collaborative spirit, we can design systems and services that are not only effective but truly empowering.
