About Uri Ilan

I’m a pediatric hemato-oncologist by training, currently serving as the AI Lead at the Princess Máxima Center Innovation Hub, where I focus on bringing meaningful digital innovations into clinical practice to make our hospital smarter, faster, and more connected. At the Máxima Innovation Hub, we not only introduce cutting-edge digital solutions but also help our colleagues turn their own ideas into real-world innovations, connecting them with the right partners, funding opportunities, and internal support systems to make their concepts a reality. As the medical lead of Capricorn — an advanced AI-powered literature search tool co-developed with Google, I work at the intersection of medicine, data, and technology to empower clinicians and researchers with better access to knowledge. Beyond Máxima, I collaborate with startups to help them navigate the medical world and bring their technologies to patients. I also co-chair the SIOP AI Working Group, aiming to make AI tools accessible to low- and middle-income countries, bridging global gaps and ensuring that innovation benefits every child, everywhere. My mission: to harness AI and data-driven tools to transform pediatric oncology "from discovery to decision"!
