Background
About Urooj Fatima
I I completed my undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics at the Lahore University of Management Sciences in May 2022. After graduation, I joined Teach for Pakistan as a Teaching Fellow, where I taught Grade 4 and Grade 5 students at a Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) school on the outskirts of Islamabad. This experience deepened my understanding of the systemic barriers to quality education and allowed me to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to improve learning outcomes. Some highlights of my Fellowship include co-founding a student-led library, which significantly improved student engagement and learning outcomes, and leading a community-based WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) awareness project that contributed to better hygiene practices in the school, positively impacting student well-being and academic performance. Over the course of my leadership journey, I recognized the importance of adaptive leadership in addressing complex, systemic challenges. This led me to shift my focus from teaching to driving larger-scale, sustainable change through strategic project delivery and organizational development. Currently, as a Senior Associate in Program Learning and Design, I lead and manage the execution of high-impact projects, ensuring they are delivered efficiently and effectively. I leverage systems thinking and a collaborative approach to deliver results that meet organizational goals. My work is centered on ensuring that projects not only achieve immediate objectives but also contribute to long-term, sustainable impact. I am eager to continue contributing to projects that drive meaningful change, using my problem-solving skills, and experience in stakeholder collaboration, and leadership to create solutions that have a lasting impact.
