About Ursula Mullane

Currently the Business Development Manager for UL's School of Medicine, developing and implementing strategy for this interesting, dynamic and complex organisation. Planning staff and student recruitment numbers and activities, Selecting and managing key programme and capital projects on behalf of the school and its stakeholders. As the Project Manager for UL@Work Programme in 2024, I led projects and co-ordinated programme activities to successfully deliver programme KPIs on time and to budget through engagement and communications with multiple stakeholders. I liaised with all relevant internal stakeholders and structures at UL including Academics, Registry, Quality Support Unit, Admissions, Finance, IT services, to ensure the programme met its milestones. I also coordinated within and between faculties, and in partnership with industry, to identify & adapt high-demand courses consistent with labour market demand, and the university’s mission. A key responsibility was to create, collate, and submit HEA-requested periodic reports and network with other universities. As Business Process Development Officer at the University of Limerick, I was responsible for the project management and business process analysis for multiple areas within the Academic Registry, such as timetabling, recruitment and admissions, course set-up, and student records. I have over 30 years of MNC & SME experience in strategic planning, project management, and operations management, with a background in engineering, quality improvement, and environmental projects. I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics (Process Control & Automation), and a Master of Science in Project and Programme Management (Honours), both from the University of Limerick. I am a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with the American Society of Quality. I have a passion for sustainability and community development, serving as project manager and board member for Gateway to Education Limerick. I have previously founded and managed my own social enterprise (Community Repair and Maintenance). My mission is to leverage my skills and expertise to enhance the student and staff experience and support the University's strategic goals and vision.
