To be a desirable IBDP educator/coordinator and to attain a responsible and a rewarding position which provides me with an opportunity to pursue a Challenging carrier in helping Mankind by teaching while contributing to Research in Psychology. Teaching IB Psychology was a major shift in my profession as I was a school counsellor and a Psychologist for 8 years before I started teaching. It’s indeed an interesting journey from past 4 years, as Psychology curriculum is a culmination of TOK and international mindedness. IB psychology takes a holistic approach that fosters intercultural understanding and respect. In the core of the IB psychology course, the biological level of analysis demonstrates what all human’s share, whereas the cognitive and sociocultural levels of analysis reveal the diversified influence on human behaviour and mental processes. Cultural diversity explored encouraging students to develop empathy for needs of others within and outside their own culture. This empathy contributes to an international understanding enabling them to become lifelong learners. While teaching I have experienced transformation with in me as well - as the open ended nature of the topics included in the curriculum always gives immense scope to discuss and relate to the latest happenings in world around us dwelling me and the students to reflect and broaden our conscious horizons.
