About Ushany Kanagendiran

I have over 4years of experience in developing, evaluating, managing, and facilitating quality and impactful programs that empower and support girls and women, as well as patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. As a Regional Patient Program Specialist at Crohn's and Colitis Canada, I create and implement patient education and support programs across the region, using my skills in communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. I am passionate about the mission and vision of Crohn's and Colitis Canada, and I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as someone who lives with Crohn's disease and has a background in psychology and cybersecurity. In my current role, I am responsible for maintaining contact with key stakeholders, participating in grant proposals and reporting, and managing program facilitators. I also leverage my certificate in cybersecurity to ensure the security and privacy of data and online platforms. Previously, I worked as a Program Manager and a Program Coordinator at Girls Inc. of York Region, where I gained valuable skills and knowledge in working with diverse and vulnerable populations. Through these experiences, I have demonstrated my ability to lead, collaborate, and deliver results in the field of program development and implementation.
