About Uttank Vora

A music composer for television, cinema and theater, I am best known for some of the most successful shows of the Indian television industry - Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Khichdi, Baa Bahoo aur Baby and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka. A career spanning over 39 years, it all began when I started professionally composing and recording for private albums at the age of 14. My first semi-commercial project was Tathaiya – a Gujarati musical directed and produced by the great Mahendra Joshi. My first commercial play was Yuddh - directed by Latesh Shah and produced by Padma Shri Upendra Trivedi. In I composed for Khel – a two-character Hindi play directed by Paresh Rawal starring Naseeruddin Shah and Paresh Rawal. From theater, I ventured into Gujarati serials. Initially, I composed only the songs, mainly title tracks. I then began scoring after Vipul Amrutlal Shah asked me to compose the background music for his television shows. I began composing music for Hindi television shows as well and changed the way music was composed for television. Till date I have composed for 100+ Hindi television shows. My career in Hindi cinema began with Ashutosh Gowariker’s debut film Pehla Nasha and compose the songs for it with my brother Neeraj Vora. In I scored the background music Akshay Kumar – Preity Zinta starrer Sangharsh and then went onto score the background music for the blockbuster 2005 film Waqt: The Race Against Time which was a major commercial success. In 2006, I composed the songs for the film Malamaal Weekly – written and directed by Priyadarshan. Recently, I have composed songs for and scored Paresh Rawal – Rishi Kapoor starrer Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi written and directed by Sanjay Chhel; and scored the blockbuster Gujarati film Chal Man Jeetva Jaiye written and directed by Deepesh Shah. Creative Director at Resonation Audio Branding: Led end-to-end sonic branding projects for leading brands including Kotak811, Urban Company, foundit (formerly Monster), FamPay, and Dunzo—creating distinctive audio identities that strengthen brand recall across digital and offline touchpoints. Developed functional sonic assets for Akasa Air, Mobile Premier League (MPL), and Pine Labs, enhancing user experience through tailored UX sound design. Also creatively led audio ad campaigns for Zomato on radio and Spotify, reinforcing their sonic identity with consistent, brand-aligned musical and instrumental expressions.
