V. Mitch McEwen, Partner of Atelier Office, Founding Director of Princeton's Black Box, holds an MArch from Columbia University (GSAPP) and BA from Harvard in Social Studies, cum laude. Before co-founding Atelier Office, McEwen worked at Bernard Tschumi Architects and New York City Department of City Planning as Associate Urban Designer for the Queens Borough. McEwen joined the faculty at Princeton SoA in fall 2017. McEwen's design work has been awarded grants from the Graham Foundation, Knight Foundation, and New York State Council on the Arts. Projects have been commissioned by the US Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Museum of Modern Art. McEwen is a co-founder of the Black Reconstruction Collective and a board member of the Van Alen Institute and M&A.
