Background

About Vaibhav Kaithvas

I was born on December 30, 1990, in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh. From my college days, I have been a self-reliant and sincere individual with a deep inclination towards spirituality. Alongside my academic journey, I have also pursued my passion for Sufi Qawwali singing and established myself as an accomplished artist in this field. My initial training in music was under the esteemed guidance of Yash-Bharati awardee, Dr. Shivani Matanheliya from Pratapgarh. I completed my postgraduate studies (MPA in Vocal Music) from Bhatkhande Sanskrit University, Lucknow, and later conducted my research under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Naman Dutt at Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, Chhattisgarh. Over the years, I have contributed significantly to academic discourse, with more than 25 articles and research papers published in prestigious national and international journals. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Performing Arts, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, at Eklavya University, where I also mentor several research scholars pursuing their PhDs under my guidance. Additionally, I hold the position of Executive Editor in the International Research Journal of the University. Recently, my book,"Roohani Qawwali in Hindustani Music," was published and launched across 66 countries. It is now available on Flipkart and Google Books. I also had the honor of successfully organizing the Bundeli Damoh Mahotsav, an event held by the Bundeli Trust in Madhya Pradesh. My contributions to the field of Sufi Qawwali singing have been recognized on international platforms. On May 11, 2024, I was honored with the "Sangeet Pashupatinath Surmani Samman" at the International Nepal Festival. In the literary domain, I have been awarded two prestigious accolades—the Rabindranath Tagore Literature Award and the London Book of World Records for my literary contributions. Furthermore, on September 14, 2024, I received the "International Music Shrikshetra Samman" at the International Music Festival in Puri, Odisha. On January 3, 2025, I was conferred with the Sangeet Churnamani Award at the International Cuttack Festival, followed by the Braj Mayuri Award at the International Krishna Rang Festival on January 4, 2025. Another milestone in my career was being appointed as a member of the editorial board of a distinguished research journal that has been in publication for over two decades. Recently, I also published an e-book titled "Folk Arts in the Indian Environment.
