About Val Bracken

I am an enthusiastic and visually creative professional with over 25 years of business, retail, and personnel management experience. Employing a positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills, and motivation and leadership techniques, I enjoy any opportunity to aid in the fostering of an environment of open, efficient communication to encourage greater team work. My work has always remained focused on improving the client or customer experience in any way possible, and I am continually looking for ways to better the retail environment to do just that. I am looking for a challenging new position that will fully utilize my creative desires alongside likeminded team members to provide customers with what they want. My current role is multifaceted at Buckmans Home and Garden, where I manage a team of 8 in a large retail environment, working alongside the owner to devise and implement the inventory and display designs during each seasonal change. My display design work has been praised by co-workers and store customers, leading to off-site contract work designing and decorating homes as is asked of me. I am highly self-motivated and like to use my communication skills to brighten the day of those I work with and for. I am most fulfilled when applying my visual creativity to aid in the enjoyment of those around me. I am highly commercially astute as well due to my focus on the customer's desires, leading to success in the purchasing and control of merchandise.
