About Val Wall

I have developed several programs in the Wichita and surrounding areas. The first was Circle of Friends, a peer mentoring program. We developed the program in 120 schools, working with over students. We also developed programs in Texas, Ohio, and Colorado. I also developed a variety show that showcased over 60 individuals with disabilities and their peers,( 40 individuals). It became a community event at Century II. I am now a director of the program I developed that has adults with disabilities experiencing college. We have 30 adults with disabilities on our Friends University campus in two different programs that I designed. One program is more social but has a lifeskills curriculum. The other is a four year program with different classes each semester. The students will go through graduation at the end of their four years. As an educator for 34 years, I have taught both Family and Consumer Science,( Marriage and Family, Foods, Interior Design, Sewing), and Special Education,( Intellectually Disabled, Inter- related in middle school and high school), as well as classes at the college level. I have taught at Hutchinson Community College - both on campus,( Interpersonal Relations), and on- line,( Introduction to Nutrition). Through Tabor College at their Wichita site, I developed a stress awareness class and taught it. I also taught General Psychology class which I have also taught many times for Butler Community College. For Butler, I have also taught Abnormal Psychology, Child Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Marriage and Family, and Exceptional Child. At Friends University, I have taught Interpersonal Relations, Human Growth and Development, Individual and Family in Society, Preventive Strategies for Families, and will be teaching a new class for me- Toward Healthy Marriages.
