About Valentina Gorobets
Originally pursuing a degree in mathematics, I got interested in Virtual Reality during my Masters study. I participated in various hackathons that gave me an insight into the basics of VR. I got curious about the research part of it and in January 2020 joined an ICVR lab at ETH Zurich to deepen my knowledge in the scientific area of VR. As I have always been interested in interdisciplinary fields, I have chosen my dissertation topic to be "Human behavior in VR". It allows me to discover various aspects such as understanding and transcribing human motions in VR and observing differences in behavior caused either by the technology and/or implementation. This experience helped me to deeper understand the basics of human behavior in VR, as it can become crucial if VR is intended to be used in industry as an additional tool to visualize, train, or assess something.
