About Valentina Resente

I'm an experienced Architect/Urban Planner. I graduated in Architecture and Urban Planning in 2003 at IUAV University of Venice and lately I took a post-graduate master degree specialisation on Urban and Territorial Planning in Developing Countries. I have more than 15 years of work experience in different geographical contexts in development cooperation programs. My experience includes: design of management plans and development guidelines to promote conservation, regeneration and sustainable tourism development in historical urban settings, sensitive coastal areas, cultural landscapes and mountainous sensitive zones (Armenia 2005-2006; Palestine 2014-15; Oman 2017-19; Lebanon 2017- 18; Italy 2020; Ethiopia/Lalibela 2022; Albania 2021-23); participative design of urban upgrading interventions to mitigate and adapt to climate changes adverse impacts in urban and rural settings; development of land use regulatory guidelines to address sustainable urban development (Hungary 2013, Iraq 2014-15, Lebanon 2015, Oman 2018, Ethiopia 2021-22, Tanzania 2022-23, Mozambique 2023 ); drafting urban reconstruction and resettlement plans for natural disaster and conflict affected urban including resettlement plans for IDPs and refugees (Sri Lanka 2006-7, Lebanon 2008, Gaza Strip 2016- 2018); technical advisory to local authorities to build capacities to design integrated development plans to provide basic infrastructures, housing and basic social services and contribute to build resilience to natural and man-made vulnerabilities (Lebanon 2015, Sri Lanka 2006-2007, Sudan 2017-18, Zanzibar 2021-22).
